After being selected as the opening film at this year's Tempo Documentary Festival, we are very pleased to have been selected for the Tempo Documentary Award Honorable Mention!
From the jury (translated):
"The Jury Honorable Mention goes to a film that, with insight, anger, humor and constructiveness, highlights a global problem, and questions heavily ingrained expectations about what a society should look like."
Thank you to Lars Strömgren of Cykelfrämjandet for accepting the award on our behalf.
It's been a big week for Bikes vs Cars! On Monday, we opened Tempo Documentary Festival in Stockholm. On Tuesday, sold-out pre-screenings were held by our good friends at Doc Lounge in Malmö and Lund, with additional screenings this week in Österlund and Göteborg (and more to come!). And tomorrow, we'll perhaps have our most exciting day yet - Bikes vs Cars will have its cinema release in theaters across Sweden, through Folkets Bio.
Here in Malmö, we look forward to gathering our closest friends at Folkets Bio's newly opened Biograf Panora. A slow-roll is arranged to bring guests to our opening gala. The entire team will be present for the screening and Q&A, including Aline and Ivan, both featured in the film. We are also happy that so many of our Kickstarter backers will be there to finally see the film on the big screen. After all, we could not have done this without their support!
Though we'll all be in Malmö tomorrow, we send our love to everyone heading to cinemas across Sweden. If you haven't yet, RSVP to our Facebook event, where you'll find a complete list of cities and cinemas showing the film.
We hope you enjoy the film!
The Bikes vs Cars team
Tomorrow, Sweden's Green Party will host a screening of Bikes vs Cars at the parliament in Stockholm. The event, which takes place from 12-2pm, will be followed by an open discussion and Q&A with Fredrik Gertten. Thank you to Karin Svensson Smith, of the Green Party, who has arranged the screening.
Fredrik's previous films Bananas!* and Big Boys Gone Bananas!* were also shown at the parliament and we are honored to be back with our new film!
For more information, please contact Green Party press secretary Axel Sandin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 072-247 97 88.
